Dubaldhan people and places

On November 17, 2013, I visited around Ghikyan panna of Dubaldhan took pictures of the developments going on in our Dubaldhan village.  A fully functional new health center has been developed, also Dubaldhan is famous for having Government College Dubaldhan which conducts undergraduate courses.  New ITI building construction is going on full swing which had been inaugurated by Mr. Deependra Hooda and Dr. Raghuvir Singh Kadian.  All pictures are here.  Please give your feedback and comments.

I am waiting for comments and suggestions or any pictures or articles to be posted on the blog from anyone interested, be of Dubaldhan Majra residents or non-residents or surrounding villages or even anyone else who is willing to share a few thoughts about our Country, State, or village or its people in general.  All are welcome.  I also request anyone who sees this blog to at least drop a comment or thought or suggestion be it positive or negative.

बेरी के गांव दूबलधनआईटीआई भवन का शिलान्यास ः सांसद दीपेंद्र हुड्डा /डा. रघुबीर कादियान

झज्जर, 19 अप्रैल।    कांग्रेस सांसद दीपेंद्र सिंह हुड्डा ने कहा कि अच्छे भविष्य की संभावनाओं के साथ प्रदेश में बेहतर ढांचागत सुविधाएं प्रदान करने का काम वर्तमान सरकार के कार्यकाल में किया गया है। सांसद ने यह बात शुक्रवार को गांव दूबलधन में औद्यौगिक प्रशिक्षण संस्थान की आधारशिला रखते हुए कही। 

 

उन्होंने कहा कि  दूबलधन गांव में करीब 424 लाख रुपए की लागत से आईटीआई का दोमंजिला भवन तैयार होगा। इस भवन के तैयार होने पर आईटीआई में एक साथ करीब 540 बच्चे 15 ट्रेड में प्रशिक्षण हासिल करेंगे। संस्थान में तीन वर्कशाप, रीडिंग हॉल, लाइब्रेरी जैसी सुविधाएं बच्चों को एक छत के नीचे मुहैया हो सकेंगी। कांग्रेस सांसद ने राजकीय महाविद्यालय दूबलधन के प्रशासनिक व लाइब्रेरी खंडों का भी शिलान्यास किया। इस भवन के भूतल पर प्रिंसिपल कक्ष, स्टाफ रूम, महिला सैल, रिकार्ड रूम सहित अन्य कार्यालय होंगे। जबकि प्रथम तल पर लाइब्रेरी खोली जाएगी, दूसरे तल पर कंप्यूटर रूम होंगे।

 

कांग्रेस सांसद ने दूबलधन में करीब पौन चार करोड़ रुपए की लागत से तैयार सामुदायिक स्वास्थ्य केंद्र का भी उद्घाटन किया। उन्होंने कहा कि आठ वर्षों में प्रदेश में जहां एक मेडिकल कालेज से पांच मेडिकल कालेज स्थापित करने का काम प्रदेश सरकार ने किया है वहीं गांव स्तर तक आधुनिक पी.एच.सी. व सी.एच.सी. स्थापित किए गए हैं। दूबलधन स्वास्थ्य केंद्र से दूबलधन व आस-पास के क्षेत्र में रहने वाली एक लाख से अधिक आबादी को सीधा लाभ मिलेगा। स्वास्थ्य केंद्र में डिलीवरी हट, जच्चा-बच्चा देखभाल उपकेंद्र, आपरेशन थिएटर जैसी सुविधाएं भी मिलेंगी। सांसद ने दूबलधन बिधान में करीब 255 लाख रुपए की लागत से तैयार होने वाले जलघर की भी आधारशिला रखी। नहर आधारित इस जलघर के तैयार होने से दूबलधन बिधान में आबादी के एक बड़े हिस्से को सीधा लाभ मिलेगा।  बेरी के विधायक डा. रघुबीर कादियान के साथ गांव बिसान, बाकरा, ढऱाणा, चिमनी, सिवाना व माजरा दूबलधन में भी ग्रामीणों से रूबरू हुए।

 

इस अवसर पर हरियाणा विधानसभा के पूर्व स्पीकर एवं बेरी से विधायक डा. रघुबीर सिंह कादियान ने कहा कि विकास के मामले में हरियाणा ने देश भर में अपनी पहचान कायम की है। पिछले आठ वर्षों के दौरान हरियाणा का बजट 2200 करोड़ रुपए से 22 हजार करोड़ रुपए तक पहुंच गया है।

 

इस मौके पर वरिष्ठ कांग्रेसी नेता बलवंत बेरी, पूर्व विधायक डा. वीरेंद्र पाल, जिला कांग्रेस कमेटी के अध्यक्ष आनंद सागर, जिला परिषद के अध्यक्ष सतीश छिक्कारा, अजय अहलावत, सोनू बधवार, श्रीओम अहलावत, महेंद्र शर्मा, अमरजीत अहलावत, कृष्ण कादियान, जगशेर कादियान एडवोकेट, संजीव कादियान, पुनीता कादियान, रवि कादियान, धीरेंद्र चाहार व विनोद खरमाण सहित अन्य गणमान्य व्यक्ति उपस्थित रहे।

The Kadyan Khap in Haryana is stated to be comprising 12 villages : Beri, Doobaldhan, Maazra, Cheemni, Dharanna, Chhuana, Daadyan, Baghpur, Madina, Dhaudd, Mangawas, Garhi (बेरी, दूबलधन, माजरा, चीमनी, ढराणा, छुआणा, दादयां, बाघपुर, मदीणा, धौड़, मांगावास और गढ़ी). [Please don’t be confused about ‘Madina’ – there is another ‘Madina’ (Dangi) between Rohtak and Maham].  

This area has a prime location – fertile lands and meadows, plain fields suitable for canal irrigation – several water-canals pass through this area now. During pre-Independence era, living conditions were harsh – frequent famines due to scarcity of rains, damage to standing crops by wild animals, exploitation of farmers by money-lenders and social evils like superstitions preached by pope Brahmins. Before 1947, there used to be another group of 12 tiny villages, mainly of Muslim inhabitants around this area – mainly Kalanaur, Kahnaur, Aavgadhi and Nivanna. There are stories about confrontations between Jats and Muslims of this area, primarily on account of cow-slaughter by some of the Muslims and the organized crimes like cattle-thefts. 

This thread, a bit lengthy - in Hindi/Haryanavi is presented by me based on some inputs by elders of Kadyan Khap villages. While reading, please have an imagination that you are in this area about seven decades ago - around 1940. 

Traditionally, we Jats have been following two important professions – farming (हाळी) and rearing of domestic cattle (पाळी). Today’s cow & buffalo grazers (पाळी) in villages happen to be utter illiterates and I feel pity for them. But let us not forget – even Lord Rama and Krishna happened to be cow-grazers in their childhood. In my earlier writings, I have written enough for farmers (हाळी). As my tribute to these cowboys and their profession (‘पाळी’), I am now presenting, at the end of this post, a few short scenes of cow-buffalo grazing Jat boys in Kadyan Khap’s rural surroundings, much like a documentary film script.

(Alphabet ळ is different from ल – pronunciated as in हाळी and पाळी. This alphabet is extensively used in Marathi and Haryanavi)

मैने बेरी गांव के एक चौधरी से एक बेबाक बात पूछी - खेती और पशु-पालन तो सभी करते हैं - पंजाब के लोग भी यही काम करते हैं । उनका रहन सहन ऊंचा है, वे लोग साफ सुथरे रहते हैं, पशुओं का घर अलग बनाते हैं और आदमी और पशु एक ही कमरे में नहीं सोते । फिर क्या वजह है कि हमारे इस हरयाणा के गावों वाले लोग भैंस और दूसरे ढ़ोर-डंगरों के पास ही खाट डाल कर सोते हैं, गोबर के छींटे उनके कपड़ों पर लगे रहते हैं और कमरे में बदबू भी रहती है – जबकि उनके पास रहने के लिए जमीन की कमी नहीं है । 

उस चौधरी साहब ने इस सवाल का बहुत ही अच्छा जवाब दिया, जिसकी मैं बहुत तारीफ करता हूं। पहले खेती से नकदी मिलना बहुत मुश्किल था, अकाल पड़ते थे, सिंचाई के साधन कम थे, आजकल की तरह इतना अनाज नहीं होता था कि फालतू बच जाये और बेचकर कुछ पैसे मिल जायें । पशु बेचने से ही कुछ नकदी मिल जाती थी - गाय-भैंस पालकर बचे हुए घी को बेचकर भी कुछ नकद पैसे मिल जाते थे । पशुधन ही उनकी असली 'cash crop' हुआ करती थी, इसलिए पशुओं की रखवाली बहुत ही जरूरी थी, पशु ही ज्यादातर चोरी हो जाते थे । इसीलिए लोग किसी-न-किसी को पशुओं की रखवाली के लिए उनके पास ही सुलाते थे ।

काहनौर-कलानौर वाले मुसलमानों का आम पेशा था - पशुओं की चोरी करना । आम तौर पर यह काम वे रात को करते थे, जब सभी सो रहे होते थे । हालांकि अपने जानने वालों के यहां वे ऐसी चोरी नहीं करते थे और गलती से उनका पशु चोरी हो जाये तो वे उसे लौटा भी देते थे । काहनौर का सुलेमान बूढ़ा मुसलमान था जो इलाके के ज्यादातर बुजुर्गों को जानता था ।

सुलेमान माजरा गांव में एक चौधरी के यहां बैठा था । शाम हो गई - चौधरी ने उसे रोटी खाने को दी । पड़ौसी ने देख लिया और चौधरी से बोला - "अरै, इस गाड़े नै क्यूं रोटी खुवावै सै? इसके छोरे तै म्हारे ढौर-डांगरां नै खोल-कै ले-ज्यां सैं, और कम यो भी ना सै ।"

सुलेमान - ना चौधरी, हाम और आप तो चाचा-ताऊ के भाई हैं ।

पड़ौसी - चल सुसरा गाड़ा - हाम और तू क्यूकर चाचा-ताऊ के हो-गे ?"

चौधरी बोला "ना रै, यो सुलेमान तै बेचारा बूढा आदमी सै, इसके बसका कुछ ना सै" । 

सुलेमान फिर चुपचाप सुनता रहा । आधी रात को चौधरी का बैल खोलकर चलता बना - और तो और, उस पड़ौस वाले चौधरी का बैल भी उसी रात चोरी हो गया । सुबह दोनों चौधरी पहुंचे काहनौर और पहले वाला चौधरी सुलेमान से बोला "खान, बुळध आ-ग्या?"

सुलेमान - हां चौधरी साहब, आपका बैल मेरे पास आ लिया ।

चौधरी - अरै खान, मन्नै तै तेरे ताहीं रोटी खुवाई और तू मेरा-ए बुळध खोल-ल्याया?

सुलेमान - देख चौधरी साहब, खुदा की कसम, मेरे से यह सुनना बर्दाश्त नहीं हुआ । आपने यह कह कैसे दिया कि सुलेमान बूढा है और उसके बसका काम नहीं है ? अब तो आपको यकीन आ गया ना कि मैं भी किसी जवान से कम नहीं?

चौधरी - हां खान, आ-ग्या यकीन । ईब तै मेरा बुळध उल्टा कर दे ।

सुलेमान - देख चौधरी, आपका बैल तो मैं वापिस कर दूंगा, पर तेरे इस पड़ौसी का तो तभी वापिस करूंगा जब मुझे पांच रुपये मिल जायेंगे ।

चौधरी - आर हामनै ना दिये तै ?

सुलेमान - तो चौधरी, आपका बैल भी आपको साबुत नहीं मिलेगा । हमारे छोकरे लोग तो छुरी रखते हैं - बस ऐसी जगह जखम कर देंगे कि फिर वो हल में चलाने लायक तो रहेगा नहीं - आपको फिर वो हमारे को ही एक-दो रुपये में बेचना पड़ेगा ।

चौधरी ने पड़ौसी को एक तरफ जाकर समझाया और सुलेमान को पांच रुपये दे दिये ।

सुलेमान - ठीक है चौधरी साहब - वो देखो बाहर खेत में बहुत सारे मवेशी हैं । आप अपने दोनों बैल पहचान कर ले जाओ ।

दोनों चौधरी बाहर आये - पर पहचान नहीं पाये कि उनके बैल कौन से हैं । बहुत से बैल थे वहां पर और सबके सींग लंबे-लंबे थे और लाल रंग से रंगे हुए थे । फिर पास आकर देखने लगे । एक बोला - भाई, यो बुळध तै म्हारा-ए दीखै सै, पर उसके सींग तै छोटे-छोटे थे । दूसरा चौधरी भी एक बैल के पास गया, उसके माथे पर हाथ फेरा तो वो बैल उसके हाथ को चाटने लगा । चौधरी बोला - अरै भाई, यो बुळध तै इसा लागै सै, मेरा-ए हो, पर इसके सींग तै घणे लांबे सैं ।

कुछ देर बाद सुलेमान वहां आया और बोला - हां चौधरियो, पहचान लिये अपने बैल ? चौधरी कुछ नहीं कह सके ।

सुलेमान फिर बोला - अरे चौधरियो, सच्ची बात है जाट - बाराह बाट । तुम लोग अपने बैल को भी पहचान नहीं पा रहे ? फिर सुलेमान उन बैलों के पास गया और उनके सींगों के ऊपर फिट किये हुए नकली लंबे सींग हाथों से खींच लिये । फिर दोनों चौधरी बोले - "ओह तेरी कै - ये तै आपणे-ए बुळध सैं " !

बेरी गांव के एक सेठ जी के पास घोड़ी थी, उसकी रखवाली के लिए एक बाहमण का लड़का रखा हुआ था । रात को निवाणा गांव के कुछ मुस्लिम लड़के दो घोड़ों पर आए और घोड़ी को खोल कर उस पर सवार होकर चलते बने । बाहमण का लड़का गिड़गिड़ाने लगा कि सेठ तो मुझे नौकरी से निकाल देगा । उनमें से एक मुस्लिम छोकरा बोला - ठीक है तेरा भी कोई रास्ता खोजना पड़ेगा । फिर उसने अपनी लाठी जोर से उस लड़के के सिर पर दे मारी और बोला - जा, अब सेठ जी तेरे को नौकरी से नहीं निकालेंगे, कह देना मैने तो रोकने की बहुत कौशिश की पर वे मेरा सिर फोड़ कर घोड़ी को छीन कर भाग गए ।

अगले दिन सेठ जी ने उस लड़के को निवाणा गांव भेजा । आठ रुपये लेकर उन मुसलमानों ने सेठ की घोड़ी वापिस कर दी और उसको बता भी दिया - "सेठ से कह देना कि मेरा सिर फोड़ कर तो वे घोड़ी छीन ले गए और आठ रुपये लेकर वापिस लौटा भी दी ।"

Thanks everyone for visiting the blog on village Dubaldhan.  I would really appreciate if you can just leave a comment or any info that you might want to share on the blog with me on our beloved village Dubaldhan or any other relevant information concerning any village of Haryana or our beloved country Bharat, any social issues, causes, concerns , any positive feedback.  Every and any comment is most welcome.

Currently, there are some issues that concern me regarding the well being of our village Dubaldhan.  Some of them are listed below, though its not an exhaustive list:

1.  Liquor/sharab menace that is spoiling our village.
2.  Pollution due to polyethylene bags of all kind, of packaging of small items, poly bags brought while purchasing things, even the smallest items come today in poly packaging that is harmful to our village soil as our village is mostly agricultural land.
3. Deforestation of panchayati land and cutting and felling of trees illegally and also by villagers on their land.
4. Occupying of water bodies by influential people who are depriving the village of precious ground water recharging capacity by occupying and filling the ground water bodies, johads, and ponds.
5. Petty issues of fights among villagers which can be sorted out by panchyat and are being left unresolved, thereby causing anger and discontent among people and then leading to fights which many a times become bloody with either party suffering bodily damage or loss of lives.

On this blog entry I am only enlisting the problems facing our village. I would like you to comment and add on to this list. We will together collectively also discuss the solutions to these problems and I would like to ask for support from every person who is connected in any way to our village Dubaldhan to contribute in some way to eradicating the problems our village is facing (NRIs, persons living outside the village in any part of India, people in politics and capable in any way to help eradicate the problems).
